Day 2… Biggest Loser Wii

Posted on 01 Jul 2010 at 8:01pm

Ok, so I am not saying that I started a habit or anything, but I just did my second day with the biggest loser workout on the Wii. I really am liking the pace and the exercises. I am doing enough that I feel like I am doing something but not so much that I am hurting myself either. I will step it up a bit tomorrow!
Kurt used it for a short workout yesterday too. I think he enjoyed it as well. I asked him if he was sore today, he wasn’t, so that’s good news.
I really want to work my way up to the P90X workout. I know that I can start it now, and just do what I can, but I really am worried that I will either hurt myself or get discouraged because I can’t do the whole thing. I am going to give myself a month to get in a work out at least 5 days a week, and then I am going to try it. I am not sure if I am going to try the whole system or not…. anyone have any experience that they want to share with me about it, please do!! I need all of the input and help that I can get!
Meanwhile….. I am going to try very hard to keep to my calorie limits so that I can a least drop a little bit of weight that way. I know that I can lose with calorie counting alone, but I want to keep tone and be in good shape as well!

Biggest Loser Workout Wii Style

Posted on 30 Jun 2010 at 6:44pm

Ok, So I have been not very good lately. I have been watching the diet and doing not so horrible on that. But, I know for me that if I want to see big losses I have to exercise as well as eat right. I have just not been doing that lately. So, I figure that I get a big shame on me! My friend Chris reminded me that while it’s fun to play on facebook, I really should get off my but and work out…. Thank you Chris. Not to mention that it has been frustrating Kurt that I have not been using the Wii or the games we have picked out for me to work out to.
I have to say that after doing the Jillian Michaels fitness ultimatum 2010, and having it royally kick my rear, I was not really into working out. I was sore for four days in a row and that made me want to give up. We had ordered the Biggest loser workout and it has been sitting on the table for over a week. I told myself that I was going to just do it today, suck it up and just go for it! So, I did…. it is so much easier to use that the Jillian Michaels one for me. It was easy to pick a fitness level and it stores all of your info so that you can track your progress. I like that. I took it a little easy and started out with the intermediate workouts and did a little over a half hour with cool down. I am ready to go out and buy it!
I am working my way up to doing the P90X. I have some friends that say that they really love the results. I just don’t feel like I am ready for that intensity yet. Let me work up to it a little.
I am hoping to get some walking in the evenings now that it is so light later in the evening. That way Kurt and I can do it together. That would be nice!
So, wish me luck!!

Oh, I hate the dieting thing!!

Oh, I hate the dieting thing!!

Posted on 23 Jun 2010 at 7:40pm

I am so very tired of the scale not budging very much! I am losing, I know that I should be happy with that. I am not…. I really need to be happy that I am making progress. I am just really tired of watching everything I eat, trying to get a work out in, and being diligent about life!!! If you can’t tell, I am having a rough day of sorts. I am really glad that I am making good decisions, I just have to say that it’s a long road and I am trying to find the courage in myself to keep going. I do have goals. They are realistic. I just need to buckle down.

I have been using the fat secret website to track everything. I am using the Wii to weigh in and exercise. I am on the extreme fat smash diet. What else can I do??

On the wedding front, we have contacted the cake person, the photographer, and the flower person. I am really happy with the progress there. I am going to wait to work on the dress until the end of this year I think. I am hoping that I at least reach one or two of my short term goals for that. We did go to a new bridal shop in Fairview, it takes donations for the dresses. They are a non-profit place called adorned in grace, that give their proceeds to help young women in trouble. All of the items are donated and they don’t put a price on anything. Interesting concept and I hope that they do well.

On the sleeping front… I have not been, again. I am trying something different, we put the air conditioner in the bedroom and hopefully that will help me sleep better.

Temporarily lost my engagement ring!

Temporarily lost my engagement ring!

Posted on 15 Jun 2010 at 9:02pm

Over the weekend I was in classes and I did not realize that my ring had slipped off of my finger! My dad says that it was like watching the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius! I don’t really think that I over-reacted too much. But, I was really super upset! He was calmly telling me that it would be ok. He was right…. I think I should listen to my dad more often! Please don’t tell him that I said that!!

I looked up many things in order to fix my too big ring. I looked at things that looked like a little spring. I didn’t like that because I thought that it would rub too much on the gold; after all, I would probably have to have it re-sized a few times in the next year. We looked up ring snuggies…. another temporary solution. It is a plastic tube-like thing that you wear on the underside of your ring. I thought that wasn’t a good long-term solution. So, we decided that we would get a “keeper” ring. So, I went and picked out a small mm ring in a size that would not allow my engagement ring to slip. I found one and it looks good.

I don’t have to worry about my ring now!! I know that things can be replaced, but I really didn’t want to have to do that. After all, it is my ring and I really do believe in what it stands for.

On a side note… I hope that I lose enough weight so that I would have to have my ring sized again!! I think my total is 11 lbs in two and a half months. Still working on it!!

Working, life, everything….

Posted on 08 Jun 2010 at 8:10pm

So, I worked yesterday. Yay! Go me! I had a good day with my old office buddies and had a really good day. Then, I got a call back on a job that I interviewed for week before last. I took it! It is very close to where I live and it is part time, which I think will be ok for me for now. I worked my first day today and I really enjoyed it. And, I will be saving a lot of money on gas!
Kurt and I started our diet again today, it is the hardest day! I also tried the Workout Ultimatum from Jillian Michaels on the Wii. That was a tough work out. I am looking forward to maybe starting back at the gym now that I will be working and having some time in the afternoon
I am also excited that we picked our venue for our wedding and that I don’t have to stress about it anymore. There are not a lot of details that need to be worked out at this point so I have a few months to just enjoy being engaged! Again…. Yay me!!
Bob was sad that I left the house yesterday and really pouted when I left today. I am just glad that he is excited to see me when I get home. Also, I don’t know what Kurt has been feeding him, but he is sure stinky again!! Yuck!!
Keep your fingers crossed that my new job works out for me!!

Wedding location picked!!

Wedding location picked!!

Friday we had an appointment with the wedding coordinator for Chinook Winds. We had a 3:30 pm appointment. So, we planned our day accordingly. We decided that we needed a two and a half drive time window and that we would leave by 1:00 pm. Yeah, we didn’t exactly make that. We did get out the door by 1:15 pm…… with me a little stressed. I was really worried about what traffic would be like. We did run into some construction, some tree trimming crews, and some just plain slow drivers. We made it down there, but a half an hour late! I was worried because I was sure that it would make the coordinator mad. We called on our way as soon as we knew that we would be late and she was very ok with it.
Revelle Lewis is the lady that we met with. I have to say that I was very pleased with everything about Revelle. She is so very thorough and informative she really made our decision easy. She answered every question that we had with better answers than we expected. They take care of so many things there. All of the decorations, limo, no-host bar, cake, food, set up……. incredible!! The outdoor or indoor wedding will be just what we need it to be, show up-get married-walk away! No clean up. No worries!
Thank you so much Revelle for making me calm down!! I have been so stressed and having a hard time with the who process and she made me feel very assured that everything will go well!
So, I am going to shamelessly plug Chinook Winds Casino at every opportunity that I have!!

Go me! More Wii!!

Go me! More Wii!!

Posted on 03 Jun 2010 at 12:32pm

Another hour today! I hope that I can keep this up!! I was interrupted a lot today while I was working out. It was all for good reasons though! I am still working on getting my workout to be diverse. There are not too many different workouts that you can do that will cause muscle confusion. Keeping the muscles stimulated and tearing down and building up can be hard. You have to change it up or the muscles learn and then don’t produce like you want them to.
I have noticed that I am starting to show a change in my appearance even though I have not lost a lot of weight yet. I have gone down one pant size. I am hoping to reach my short term goal within the next week or so. I really need to keep up on the cardio.
Please let me know if anyone out there has used a heart rate monitor watch. I am looking in to getting one, I think that it would help me greatly to stay in the target zone to work out. If I have to exercise, I want it to go as smoothly and productively as possible. I like to do the workout, I just don’t want to have to do more than necessary because I am not working to the fullest potential. Please tell me your experiences!!

My last few days....

My last few days….

Posted on 02 Jun 2010 at 8:33pm

Yesterday we decided to give blood. It was about my 12th time. I have been giving to the Red Cross since I was a teenager. I really don’t like the process, I usually have a hard time giving. So, you ask, “WHY???” I give because it is a way to give back and give life. I had health issues as a new born baby and had to have transfusions to save my life. When I was old enough to understand that, I really wanted to give back. For me, I really have to plan ahead. I drink a lot of water and eat a good meal before I go. Protein is a must! I usually take about 10 minutes to give and that’s a little long. Normal is about 8 minutes. If it takes too long, they can’t use your blood. I have to give lying down now or I get faint after I give and can get a little bit of nausea. It goes away, but I usually have to take it easy when I am done. So, after giving yesterday, we decided to go shopping!! Yay!
We also got new pets!! Yay also!! We got two aquatic frogs. They are really small and easy to take care of. It took a lot of debate but we ended up naming them Dennis Hopper and Bumpity. If you are from the Portland Oregon area and in your late 30′s to 40′s you may remember Bumpity. He was a grass bump. So, in tribute to Dennis Hopper, who will be missed, and Bumpity, one of my childhood favorites, the frogs got their names.
I have not done the Wii today. I slept! I had a four hour power nap! That was a good thing for me. I spent some time with my dad today, we made a lot of stops, running errands. It was a good thing. But it wore me out! And, Bob vomited right on my lap, ewwww!
I have rambled enough for now….. ttyl

Today

Posted on 31 May 2010 at 4:40pm

So, I did another hour on the Wii! Go me! I am hoping that I can keep this up and also lose weight and gain muscle.
I have been sleeping much better these days… I guess snoring a lot too! I can sure tell with the way I wake up with that sore throat thing going on. It happens!
I am also getting sick of having to tell all of the neighbor kids to quit running up and down the stairs! Living on the second floor of an apartment building sucks!! It is always noisy and people have no respect. Not for where they live, who they live around, or themselves! It sucks!! Who raised all of these people anyway! I tell you the lack of respect for their fellow person is overwhelming. The trash that people just throw on the ground to the way their children act. I have been hearing kids under 10 using words I have never even heard before, let alone would use myself. It makes me sad. And people wonder why I don’t want kids! It’s no wonder when I know these kids would be their peer group! (That’s the end of that rant for now)
What’s gonna be for dinner???

Back on Track!!

Back on Track!!

Posted on 30 May 2010 at 12:41pm

Last week was a little rough for me mentally. I had Kurt’s birthday coming up, more and more wedding talk, and the end of the three week phase of the dieting. I ate horribly! I was not so far off that I derailed totally, but almost! I gained back a few pounds, again! Yuck! I have the tools and knowledge not to make poor food choices, but last week, I just kept doing what I knew was wrong. I have figured out how to snack without being overboard and I threw it out the window!
Today I got on the Wii for just over an hour and I can really tell the difference when I am not doing it on a regular basis. I was not as stable as usual and I got tired so much faster. I did manage to do the weights with the free step and that was good. I worked up a really healthy sweat today and I feel so much better for it! I have my eating back on track as well. We are not yet back on the cycle of the diet but we are loosely following it anyway. Kurt is a super rock-star! He is showing such great change and self restraint! He wasn’t making horrible food choices before, but now he is really doing awesome! He is helping to keep me motivated daily!!
I am really enjoying this journey and learning about myself!
